Girls Rights at a crossroads – turning data into action for equality for girls This session is one of four running at the same time. Please make sure to only register for one session in this time slot!
DATE & TIME
17 Nov 2026, 11:15 – 12:45
Harpa Conference Centre, Reykjavík
ABOUT THE EVENT
The session will focus on an innovative approach to bridge the two-fold data gap for girls: the Global Girls Index (GGI). Decisionmakers and girls themselves can only take future-proof decisions and lobby for change when they know the facts. The first full annual GGI will be published by Plan International in 2028, but first insights into the GGI's health dimension will be presented by young leaders at the event. A workshop will explore ways in which the participants could use the GGI to drive real change. Join us for a mix of an expert panel, young people’s perspectives and discussions in smaller circles. Become part of the community championing better data for girls and girls' leadership.
Speaker in this session include:
Petra Berner, Chair of the Board, Plan International Germany
Luísa Beatriz de Oliveira Santi, Global Young Influencer, Plan International
Prof. Dr. Juliane Hilf, Partner, Freshfields
